TIGSI Events: ticketing, paid voting and live streaming in one platform
How we built an events platform for the WAEMU and CEMAC regions: multi-operator Mobile Money, offline ticket scanning, fraud-resistant voting and live streaming from a phone.
Running a concert in Ouagadougou, a beauty contest in Abidjan or a juried election in Lomé always raises the same questions: how do you sell online when most of the audience pays with Mobile Money, how do you stop fake tickets at the door, and how do you give promoters clear accounts? We built TIGSI Events to answer all of them in a single tool.
What the platform does
- Sells tickets, booths and digital products.
- Runs paid voting for contests and juried elections.
- Handles donations and raffles.
- Gives promoters their own space: event creation, identity checks (KYC), balance and withdrawal requests.
- Ships with an entry control app and a live streaming app.
Collecting money the way people actually pay
Around fifteen aggregators and operators are integrated: Orange Money (OTP and USSD), Wave, CinetPay, PawaPay and others. A scheduled job re-checks pending transactions, and accounting is kept per currency, so the platform works in both the WAEMU and CEMAC zones.
A Mobile Money payment can be confirmed by the operator several minutes after the request. Without scheduled checks, you end up with tickets that were paid for but never delivered.
Event day: scanning that works without a network
Mobile networks often saturate at the entrance of large venues. The entry app therefore validates QR codes locally, rejects a second entry with the same ticket, and syncs as soon as the connection comes back.
Live streaming from a phone
The stream leaves the organiser's phone over WebRTC (WHIP protocol) and goes to Cloudflare Stream, which handles large-scale delivery and replays. No video control room needed to broadcast a final.
Votes you can trust
Paid voting attracts fraud. Every vote is tied to a device fingerprint, and voters are anonymised in published results.
The tech in short
Mobile apps in Flutter, a Laravel back office with React and Inertia, a public site in Next.js 15, MySQL, Firebase for notifications and S3 storage for media.
