Cashier: point of sale and sales management for retail and wholesale
Retail and wholesale prices, invoices, expenses, stock, Excel imports and per-machine licensing: how we designed Cashier for shops.
Many shops sell both retail and wholesale, with different prices depending on the customer. Generic point of sale software handles this poorly, and spreadsheets end up contradicting each other. Cashier was designed for that reality.
What Cashier does
- Products with a retail price and a wholesale price.
- Invoices, expenses and stock movements.
- Partner management and refunds.
- Excel imports and exports, PDF documents.
Prices that follow the type of sale
The price applied depends on the selected sale mode, and margin calculations take it into account. Shop owners know what each type of sale really earns.
Software distributed under licence
Cashier is installed at each customer's premises. To distribute it safely, every installation is activated by our licence server.
A licence that is hard to copy
The licence is bound to the fingerprint of the machine it is activated on. The server issues a signed JWT token that a dedicated API checks regularly: copying the installation to another machine is not enough to make it work.
A documented API
Exchanges are described with Swagger, which makes it easier to connect other tools used by the shop.
The tech in short
Laravel 12, JWT tokens, Excel and PDF exports, an API documented with Swagger.
Do you have software to distribute and want to protect it with licensing? That is a mechanism we know how to build.
